Angels Who Hear

There is an unseen world around us every day.

Most people live only by what they can see, touch, and explain. The Bible teaches that there is more happening than what appears on the surface. God is real. His kingdom is real. The Holy Spirit is real. And the angels of God are real. They are ministering spirits, actively involved in the purposes of God.

Psalm 103:20 says, “Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.” That verse is both comforting and instructive. It tells us that angels are strong and attentive to His Word. They are not the object of our faith but they are part of the way God works in the earth on behalf of His people.

Hebrews 1:14 says, “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” God has not left His people alone. God uses His angels to bring help in trouble, comfort during difficult times, and answers from heaven when we just don’t know what to do. This matters in practical life.

There are times when we need help. There are times when we need comfort and strength beyond what human ability can supply. Scripture shows us that when God’s people pray His Word, speak His promises, and hold fast their confession, angels hear God’s Word in the mouth of believers and are moved to help.

This is not strange or sensational. It is scriptural. Stop treating prayer as a ritual and start treating God’s Word as living Truth. Learn to speak God’s Word in the midst of contrary and difficult circumstances. Instead of repeating what we see, feel, and fear, Remember and Speak the promises of God.

I believe this message is especially important in the times in which we are living. Many churches have grown cold and stale. Many have been hurt in church. Some have been burned out in church. Many are weary with shallow religion, empty routine, and a form of Christianity that talks about God but portrays very little of the genuine power and presence of God. The disappointment may be real, but disappointment with people is not an excuse to walk away from Christ.

The answer to spiritual disappointment is not less of God. It is more of Him.

The answer is not to throw away the Bible, but to return to it. Not to abandon prayer, but to pray with fresh hunger. Not to withdraw from the Holy Spirit, but to seek a deeper and more scriptural walk with Him. We do not need a lighter version of Christianity that asks little and expects little. We need the real thing.

Jesus still saves. He still heals sick bodies. He still heals broken hearts and delivers from sin. Jesus still answers prayer. He is still doing wonders in the earth.

God is concerned about men and women being brought to truth, repentance, and salvation. That ought to stir the church. We are not called merely to attend services, warm a pew, and discuss what is wrong with everyone else. We are called to care about souls. Angels are actively involved in this end time harvest.

There are people all around us who need a fresh start. Some are burdened by sin. Some are bound by habits. Some are confused. Some are lonely. Some have tried religion and found it empty because they never truly met the Lord Jesus Christ. But Jesus still receives sinners. He still forgives. He still changes lives. He still gives men and women a new beginning.

Angels hear and listen to God’s Word in the mouths of believers. God’s children must keep the Word of God in their mouths. Angels are listening! Speak faith instead of fear, truth instead of unbelief, and praise instead of despair. Pray the promises of God and expect God to move and angels to respond!

Whether you are unchurched, spiritually dry, disappointed with religion, or simply hungry for more of God, do not turn away from Him. Turn toward Him. Open your Bible. Call on the name of Jesus. Ask the Lord to make Himself real to you. Find a Bible-preaching church where Christ is exalted and the Holy Spirit is welcomed.

There is more in God than many have yet known. He is still near. He is still working. He still answers prayer. He still comforts His people. He still sends help from heaven. And for those who will believe His Word and walk with Him, there are still angels who hear.
